Meheut &#8211; 1886<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h4>Une ile cultiv\u00e9e<\/h4>\n<p>Fermant la plage, l\u2019\u00eele de la Comtesse, accessible \u00e0 mar\u00e9e basse, est ainsi nomm\u00e9e en l\u2019honneur de Marguerite de Mayenne (1208-1248) qui l\u2019avait re\u00e7ue de son \u00e9poux Henri d\u2019Avaugour, seigneur de Penthi\u00e8vre. Elle a donn\u00e9 son nom \u00e0 la plage et au quartier qui l\u2019entoure. A la fin de sa vie, veuf, Henri d\u2019Avaugour devenu moine b\u00e9n\u00e9dictin au couvent des Cordeliers de Lehon fit don d&#8217;une partie de ses biens, dont l\u2019\u00eele de la Comtesse, au monast\u00e8re qui en est rest\u00e9 propri\u00e9taire jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la R\u00e9volution.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les inventaires des biens du monast\u00e8re r\u00e9alis\u00e9s au 17<span><sup>e<\/sup><\/span> si\u00e8cle montrent que l\u2019\u00eele \u00e9tait autrefois cultiv\u00e9e et source de revenus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/12.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h4>Un jardin botanique ?<\/h4>\n<p>Propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de la commune depuis 1975, l\u2019\u00eele a connu de multiples propri\u00e9taires qui se sont succ\u00e9d\u00e9 pendant les 19<span><sup>e<\/sup><\/span> et 20<span><sup>e<\/sup><\/span> si\u00e8cles.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019un d\u2019eux \u00e9tait Auguste Le Mao\u00fbt (1817-1897), pharmacien exil\u00e9 \u00e0 Londres \u00e0 cause de ses id\u00e9es r\u00e9publicaines et ami de Victor Hugo. Son \u00e9pouse avait acquis l\u2019ile de la Comtesse en 1872 et poss\u00e9dait une villa \u00e0 Saint-Quay-Portrieux. Ce sont les \u00e9poux Le Mao\u00fbt qui firent construire les murs encore visibles pour abriter des vents un potager et un jardin botanique dont les plantes entraient dans les pr\u00e9parations pharmaceutiques. Un vivier, au pied de l\u2019\u00eele permettait de conserver poissons et crustac\u00e9s. Mais qui \u00e9tait Eug\u00e8ne Rimmel\u00a0?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris en 1820, il s\u2019installa \u00e0 Londres pour ouvrir une boutique de parfums avec son p\u00e8re. Eug\u00e8ne, cr\u00e9ateur de parfums et homme d\u2019affaire, rencontra rapidement le succ\u00e8s. Ses parfums lui ouvrirent les portes de la haute soci\u00e9t\u00e9 londonienne, il devint fournisseur de la cour d\u2019Angleterre et sa notori\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tait internationale. Cr\u00e9ateur de produits cosm\u00e9tiques, il inventa le premier mascara non toxique, le rimmel, dont le nom est devenu g\u00e9n\u00e9rique.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/16-1.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Il se dit qu\u2019\u00e0 Saint Quay Portrieux, o\u00f9 il poss\u00e9dait une villa, Eug\u00e8ne Rimmel r\u00e9coltait les plantes de l\u2019\u00eele de la Comtesse et de champs voisins pour fabriquer ses parfums et le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre \u00ab\u00a0vinaigre de toilette\u00a0\u00bb qui fit une partie de sa renomm\u00e9e. La fille d&#8217;Eug\u00e8ne Rimmel et son mari ont d&#8217;ailleurs rachet\u00e9 l&#8217;\u00eele de la Comtesse en 1898.<\/p>\n<p>Les plantes de l\u2019\u00eele de la Comtesse ont-elles contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la renomm\u00e9e d\u2019Eug\u00e8ne Rimmel ? C&#8217;est vraisemblable. Mais\u2026 peut-\u00eatre n\u2019est-ce qu\u2019une belle histoire\u00a0!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/17.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h4><b>Que reste-t-il de ce jardin ?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00eele de la Comtesse est constitu\u00e9e d&#8217;un socle granitique avec un peu de terre arable en partie rapport\u00e9e pour pouvoir cultiver.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s l&#8217;entr\u00e9e du chemin d&#8217;acc\u00e8s, la criste marine, une des rares plantes capables de survivre dans les endroits r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement atteints par les embruns, indique qu&#8217;on est ici entre terre et mer\u2026.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>C\u00f4t\u00e9 nord et est se retrouvent les essences habituelles des falaises bretonnes dont les graines ont \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9es par le vent et les oiseaux, aub\u00e9pines, prunelliers, tro\u00e8nes rustiques, foug\u00e8res, val\u00e9rianes, girofl\u00e9es\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Mais c\u00f4t\u00e9 sud et ouest, nombre d&#8217;essences sont manifestement les vestiges des anciens jardins o\u00f9 les murs cr\u00e9aient des espaces prot\u00e9g\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Figuiers, poiriers autrefois paliss\u00e9s, iris des jardins, agapanthes, tamaris, laurier-tin (ou viorne-tin), buis, saule argent\u00e9, anciens rosiers, grand houx, romarin, euphorbes des garrigues et grands cypr\u00e8s de lambert n&#8217;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9s par les vents !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/18.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">Criste marine<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Quelques-unes de ces plantes comme l&#8217;aub\u00e9pine, le houx, la cl\u00e9matite des haies, le saule, le tamaris\u2026 sont connues pour leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9dicinales<\/p>\n<p>Admirez-les au milieu du fenouil et des herbes folles.<\/p>\n<p>Respectez-les ! She gave her name to the beach and the surrounding area. His wife had acquired Ile de la Comtesse in 1872 and owned a villa in Saint-Quay-Portrieux. It was Le Mao\\u00fbt and his wife who had the walls built, which are still visible today, to shelter a vegetable garden and botanical garden from the wind, whose plants were used in pharmaceutical preparations. A fishpond at the foot of the island was used to store fish and shellfish. Eug\\u00e8ne, cr\\u00e9ateur de parfums et homme d\\u2019affaire, rencontra rapidement le succ\\u00e8s. Ses parfums lui ouvrirent les portes de la haute soci\\u00e9t\\u00e9 londonienne, il devint fournisseur de la cour d\\u2019Angleterre et sa notori\\u00e9t\\u00e9 \\u00e9tait internationale. Eug\\u00e8ne was a successful perfume designer and businessman. His perfumes opened the doors to London's high society, he became a supplier to the English court and his reputation was international.
