Les ailes, sym\u00e9triques, d\u2019une envergure de 16 m\u00e8tres, sont solidaires du toit, l&#8217;ensemble pivote guid\u00e9 par son chemin de roulement. Le toit est recouvert d\u2019essentes (planchettes de couverture) de ch\u00e2taigner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>Pour tourner, les ailes doivent \u00eatre perpendiculaires \u00e0 l&#8217;axe du vent. Il faut donc orienter l\u2019ensemble du toit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une queue ou gouvernail en ch\u00eane, en s\u2019aidant d\u2019un cordage et des 8 bornes plac\u00e9es sur le chemin de pierres circulaire qui entoure le moulin.<\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les ailes sont garnies de \u00ab\u00a0voiles\u00a0\u00bb dont on peut r\u00e9gler la surface selon les conditions de vent, en les roulant gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 deux drisses sur une b\u00f4me \u00e0 rouleau (syst\u00e8me invent\u00e9 par Jean Peillet et adapt\u00e9 des huniers des go\u00e9lettes). Un m\u00e9canisme de freinage permet d\u2019arr\u00eater le mouvement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Au premier \u00e9tage se trouvent les deux meules entre lesquelles on verse les grains. Celle du dessous est fixe (meule dormante) celle du dessus mobile (meule tournante) Elle est entra\u00een\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la rotation des ailes, solidaires de l\u2019axe moteur o\u00f9 se trouve fix\u00e9 le rouet et ses alluchons. It is driven by the rotation of the wings, which are attached to the motor shaft on which the spinning wheel and its sprockets are mounted.
