Tous ne peuvent pas \u00eatre cit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/24-Ruellan_le_port.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>Le port \u2013 Joseph Alexandre Ruellan<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Philippe Matozrec (1726-1801) n\u00e9 et mort au Portrieux<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>Dans la chapelle Sainte-Anne, le retable <i>L\u2019\u00e9ducation de la vierge<\/i>, peint par Philippe Matozrec en 1777, est une commande du conseil de fabrique. Un d\u00e9tail de cette sc\u00e8ne biblique repr\u00e9sente la premi\u00e8re jet\u00e9e du port, avec un petit chantier naval.<\/p>\n<p>Matozrec a surtout illustr\u00e9 des sc\u00e8nes religieuses et des miracles, repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s sur de grandes toiles qui se trouvent pour certaines dans la basilique de Sainte-Anne-d\u2019Auray<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/25-Matorzec_1777_detail-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>L\u2019\u00e9ducation de la Vierge (d\u00e9tail) \u2013 Philippe Matozrec \u2013 1777<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Jean-Baptiste Leopold Levert (1819-1882)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>Peintre et graveur, il est cofondateur de la fondation de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 anonyme des artistes peintres, sculpteurs et graveurs, en 1874. Il a comme \u00e9l\u00e8ve Henri Rouart, avec lequel il vient en Bretagne. Levert passe l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 1875 au Portrieux et envoie \u00e0 l\u2019exposition impressionniste de 1876 \u00e0 Paris, neuf tableaux dont quatre sur le Portrieux<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/26-Leopold_Levert_par_Degas.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>portrait de Jean Baptiste Levert &#8211; Edgard Degas<br \/>\n<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/27-LEVERT_1875_1800.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>Vue du port depuis le Port-es-Leu \u2013 Jean-Baptiste Levert &#8211; collection particuli\u00e8re<\/p>\n<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Henri Rouart (1833-1912)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>Ing\u00e9nieur et industriel, Henri Rouart, se consacre \u00e0 la peinture tardivement. Degas est son ami et il peint r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement en compagnie de Millet et Corot. Tr\u00e8s proches des impressionnistes, il en sera aussi le m\u00e9c\u00e8ne et le collectionneur.<\/p>\n<p>Il d\u00e9couvre notre r\u00e9gion en 1866 avec le peintre Levert, son professeur, puis s\u00e9journera au Portrieux et Br\u00e9hat en 1873.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Henri Rouart est le pilier d\u2019une grande famille de peintres, \u00e9crivains, philosophes. Son fils Ernest \u00e9pouse en 1900 Julie Manet, fille de Berthe Morisot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Louis Marie Faudacq (1840-1916)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/28-faudacq_portrieux.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>Portrieux &#8211; Louis Marie Faudacq<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sa famille est originaire de Bretagne en Go\u00e9lo, mais Faudacq ne s\u2019y installe d\u00e9finitivement qu\u2019en 1868.<\/p>\n<p>Son m\u00e9tier de douanier lui permet d\u2019arpenter \u00e0 pied tout le littoral lors de ses tourn\u00e9es d\u2019inspection. Appel\u00e9 affectueusement \u00ab gobe la lune \u00bb par ses amis<span>, Louis Marie <\/span>Faudacq parcourt les sentiers c\u00f4tiers avec son chien, de jour comme de nuit.<\/p>\n<p>De forte stature, habill\u00e9 d\u2019une veste de velours, chauss\u00e9 de souliers ferr\u00e9s, Faudacq emporte toujours son carnet \u00e0 dessins. Avec un trait s\u00fbr, il esquisse le paysage littoral, les \u00e9quipements portuaires, l\u2019\u00e9volution de l\u2019estran au fil des mar\u00e9es, sur la c\u00f4te et le long du Trieux.<\/p>\n<p>Il croque sur le vif les m\u00e9tiers, la vie des paysans et des marins, les bateaux avec des descriptions pr\u00e9cises et nous laisse des chroniques tr\u00e8s suggestives de sc\u00e8nes quotidiennes.<br \/>Faudacq collabore de 1885 \u00e0 1894 \u00e0 la revue le Yacht, journal de la navigation de plaisance dans lequel on retrouve ses croquis et <span>illustrations<\/span> fid\u00e8les de bateaux<\/p>\n<p>Son \u0153uvre immense est un pr\u00e9cieux t\u00e9moignage de la vie locale en Go\u00e9lo, \u00e0 la fin du 19<span><sup>e<\/sup><\/span> si\u00e8cle. Il est remarqu\u00e9 ainsi par Signac qui sera son premier collectionneur et fera reconna\u00eetre son \u0153uvre. Faudacq trouvera tardivement, apr\u00e8s sa mort, un \u00e9cho aupr\u00e8s d\u2019amateurs \u00e9clair\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Retir\u00e9 \u00e0 Ploubazlanec, Faudacq meurt en 1916.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29-faudacq.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Paul Lecomte (1842-1920)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p>Oncle de Paul Emile Lecomte (peintre officiel de la marine), Paul Lecomte est venu au Portrieux au cours de ses nombreux s\u00e9jours en Bretagne.<\/p>\n<p>Par l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re que d\u00e9gagent ses tableaux, il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un des derniers repr\u00e9sentants de l\u2019\u00e9cole de Barbizon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Louis Henri Saintin (1846-1899)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/30-Saintin_apres_l_orage.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>Apr\u00e8s l\u2019Orage \u2013 Louis Henri Saintin \u2013 1894 &#8211; Collection Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art et d\u2019histoire, Ville de Saint-Brieuc<br \/>\n<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ce grand tableau (136 x 200 cm), peint lors d\u2019un s\u00e9jour au Portrieux, sera propos\u00e9 au salon de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 nationale des beaux-arts en 1895, puis remis au mus\u00e9e de Saint- Brieuc en 1902.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u00ab\u00a0Apr\u00e8s la violence de l\u2019orage, dans la luminosit\u00e9 du ciel et de la mer, le port semble surgir de la palette vert sombre de la lande. Ce tableau est une composition d\u2019atelier, l\u2019ajout du calvaire, probablement celui de la rue Louais fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la pi\u00e9t\u00e9 bretonne\u00bb. (Denise Delouche)<\/i><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Louis Henri Saintin est un peintre <span>de paysages et de natures mortes<\/span>, proche de l\u2019\u00e9cole de Barbizon.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9 \u00e0 Ivry sur Seine et mort \u00e0 Paris, apr\u00e8s avoir peint les alentours de Fontainebleau, Henri Saintin n\u2019en puise pas moins son inspiration en Bretagne.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses amis peintres Alexandre S\u00e9g\u00e9 et Francis Blin, rencontr\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019Ecole des beaux-arts de Paris, Saintin d\u00e9couvre la Bretagne et s\u2019\u00e9tablit \u00e0 Plurien pr\u00e8s du cap Fr\u00e9hel en 1875.<\/p>\n<p>Contemporain d\u2019Eug\u00e8ne Boudin, cet artiste sensible aux changements atmosph\u00e9riques fr\u00e9quente particuli\u00e8rement les C\u00f4tes du Nord, en toutes saisons, de Erquy \u00e0 Saint Cast. On lui doit cent vingt-six \u0153uvres r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur ses sites privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s, ainsi que de nombreux dessins et aquarelles.<\/p>\n<p>Louis Henri Saintin sillonne les c\u00f4tes de la baie, pour \u00e9tudier in situ les variations de la lumi\u00e8re au fil des heures et des mar\u00e9es. Dou\u00e9 d\u2019un grand sens de l\u2019observation, il se verra confier, \u00e0 ce titre, les illustrations de la r\u00e9gion de Montfort-sur-Meu pour un inventaire du patrimoine d\u2019Ille-et-Vilaine.<\/p>\n<p><span>En 1870, Louis Henri Saintin rejoint un collectif d\u2019artistes dissidents, en d\u00e9saccord avec la scission du salon en deux expositions<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Saintin est un peintre dont la carri\u00e8re reste discr\u00e8te, malgr\u00e9 une \u0153uvre importante. Il a beaucoup expos\u00e9 pendant 25 ans mais peu vendu aux marchands d\u2019art. Il faisait partie de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Artistes Fran\u00e7ais et exposait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. La plupart de ses \u0153uvres peintes ici sont dans des collections particuli\u00e8res, dont une quinzaine furent pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es lors d\u2019une exposition \u00e0 la mairie, intitul\u00e9e deux fr\u00e8res artistes peintres entre 1887 et 1920.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/34-Emile_Clavel.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h6>Le port &#8211; Emile Clavel -collection particuli\u00e8re<br \/>\n<\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h1>\n<p>Marie-Joseph L\u00e9on Clavel , dit I Will (1850-1923)<\/p>\n<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p><span>Fr\u00e8re d\u2019Emile, L\u00e9on Clavel se consacre enti\u00e8rement \u00e0 la peinture. Grand voyageur, il rencontre un franc succ\u00e8s pour ses pastels, ses huiles et les atmosph\u00e8res diapr\u00e9es qu\u2019il rend dans ses tableaux de Venise et des Pays Bas. Il fait partie de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Artistes Fran\u00e7ais et expose r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 ce titre. Jusqu\u2019en 1901, les armements Ruellan font naviguer une flottille de navires arm\u00e9s pour Terre-Neuve et l\u2019Islande. Joseph-Alexandre Ruellan, enfant du pays, r\u00e9pond \u00e0 de nombreuses commandes priv\u00e9es pour des personnes ais\u00e9es qui appr\u00e9cient sa peinture. R\u00e9sistante pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, elle s\u2019implique dans de nombreuses organisations politiques et intellectuelles. Ses \u0153uvres expressionnistes interrogent sur la condition f\u00e9minine et ses tableaux sont toujours engag\u00e9s. Les membres re\u00e7oivent cette distinction de la part de leurs pairs, peintres, illustrateurs, sculpteurs, graveurs, photographes, cin\u00e9astes et ont rang de capitaine de corvette. L\u2019auteur de nombreux albums transporte ses lecteurs dans un monde d\u2019aventures et de r\u00eave. Avec plus de cinquante ann\u00e9es de cr\u00e9ation de personnages, les dessins de Fournier \u00e9voluent dans un style plus r\u00e9aliste et racontent des aventures inspir\u00e9es de l\u2019histoire.<\/p>\n<p>Toujours dans sa bulle, Fournier a publi\u00e9 une bande dessin\u00e9e autobiographique<i> Ma vie de r\u00eaves<\/i> en 2024. Jean Claude Fournier a aussi accueilli et encourag\u00e9 de jeunes d\u00e9butants comme Emmanuel Lepage, premier auteur de bandes dessin\u00e9es nomm\u00e9 Peintre officiel de la Marine en 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/41-ma_vie_de_reve-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Chapelle Sainte-Anne Saint-Quay-Portrieux\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Mais encore, comment ne pas \u00e9voquer les peintres qui n\u2019ont pas toujours eu la reconnaissance qu\u2019ils m\u00e9ritaient, n\u2019ont pas eu la faveur des mus\u00e9es, tous les artistes amateurs qui se sont pos\u00e9s un jour dans notre commune pour retranscrire leur \u00e9motion sur une toile. Appel\\u00e9 affectueusement \\u00ab gobe la lune \\u00bb par ses amis<span>, Louis Marie <\\\/span>Faudacq parcourt les sentiers c\\u00f4tiers avec son chien, de jour comme de nuit.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>De forte stature, habill\\u00e9 d\\u2019une veste de velours, chauss\\u00e9 de souliers ferr\\u00e9s, Faudacq emporte toujours son carnet \\u00e0 dessins. Avec un trait s\\u00fbr, il esquisse le paysage littoral, les \\u00e9quipements portuaires, l\\u2019\\u00e9volution de l\\u2019estran au fil des mar\\u00e9es, sur la c\\u00f4te et le long du Trieux.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Il croque sur le vif les m\\u00e9tiers, la vie des paysans et des marins, les bateaux avec des descriptions pr\\u00e9cises et nous laisse des chroniques tr\\u00e8s suggestives de sc\\u00e8nes quotidiennes.<br \\\/>Faudacq collabore de 1885 \\u00e0 1894 \\u00e0 la revue le Yacht, journal de la navigation de plaisance dans lequel on retrouve ses croquis et <span>illustrations<\\\/span> fid\\u00e8les de bateaux<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Son \\u0153uvre immense est un pr\\u00e9cieux t\\u00e9moignage de la vie locale en Go\\u00e9lo, \\u00e0 la fin du 19<span><sup>e<\\\/sup><\\\/span> si\\u00e8cle. Il est remarqu\\u00e9 ainsi par Signac qui sera son premier collectionneur et fera reconna\\u00eetre son \\u0153uvre. Faudacq trouvera tardivement, apr\\u00e8s sa mort, un \\u00e9cho aupr\\u00e8s d\\u2019amateurs \\u00e9clair\\u00e9s.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Retir\\u00e9 \\u00e0 Ploubazlanec, Faudacq meurt en 1916.<\\\/p>\",\"content_en_gb\":\"\n\n<p>His family originally came from Brittany in Go\\u00e9lo, but Faudacq didn't settle there permanently until 1868.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>His job as a customs officer enabled him to survey the entire coastline on foot during his inspection rounds. Affectionately called \\u201cgobe la lune\\u201d by his friends, Louis Marie Faudacq roamed the coastal paths with his dog, day and night.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Strongly built, dressed in a velvet jacket and wearing shod shoes, Faudacq always carried his sketchbook with him. With a sure hand, he sketches the coastal landscape, port facilities and the evolution of the foreshore with the tides, on the coast and along the Trieux.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>He sketched trades, the lives of farmers and sailors, and boats with precise descriptions, leaving us with highly evocative chronicles of everyday scenes.<br \\\/>From 1885 to 1894, Faudacq was a contributor to Le Yacht, a boating magazine in which his faithful sketches and illustrations of boats are to be found.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>His immense body of work is a precious testimony to local life in Go\\u00e9lo at the end of the 19th century. He was spotted by Signac, who became his first collector and brought recognition to his work.
