Le soir venu, apr\u00e8s un office religieux dans la chapelle, la statue de la sainte solennellement port\u00e9e, autrefois par des p\u00eacheurs et des marins en tenue de travail, aujourd\u2019hui par les paroissiens, est promen\u00e9e en procession dans les rues au son des cantiques. Cette d\u00e9marche p\u00e9nitentielle permet de demander au saint ou \u00e0 la sainte d\u2019interc\u00e9der pour les p\u00e8lerins. La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie se tient \u00e0 date fixe pour honorer et prier le saint patron ou la sainte patronne d\u2019un lieu. Une messe est suivie d\u2019une procession en ext\u00e9rieur selon un parcours d\u00e9termin\u00e9, avec reliques ou statue du saint ou de la sainte, banni\u00e8res et musique. La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie religieuse est souvent suivie d\u2019une f\u00eate plus profane.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/13-Bannieres.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Tr\u00e8s nombreux sous l\u2019ancien r\u00e9gime, les pardons disparaissent \u00e0 la R\u00e9volution mais reviennent en force au XIXe si\u00e8cle. Les plus importants sont ceux qui honorent la Vierge Marie, suivis par ceux consacr\u00e9s \u00e0 sainte Anne sa m\u00e8re. Puis viennent tous les pardons qui concernent des saints locaux, en raison de leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 soigner et \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger. Les fid\u00e8les pouvaient ainsi placer leurs familles sous la protection du saint, mais aussi leurs autres biens : bestiaux, bateaux etc. Saint Quay fait partie de ces saints gu\u00e9risseurs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Les principaux \u00ab pardons \u00bb de sainte Anne se d\u00e9roulent \u00e0 Sainte-Anne d\u2019Auray (56) et \u00e0 Sainte-Anne la Palud (29). Ils rassemblent des milliers de personnes chaque ann\u00e9e. D\u2019autres pardons plus modestes ont lieu dans les nombreuses chapelles et \u00e9glises qui lui sont d\u00e9di\u00e9es. A cet emplacement une chapelle est \u00e9difi\u00e9e, puis la basilique Sainte-Anne d\u2019Auray et le culte de sainte Anne se r\u00e9pand dans toute la Bretagne. Elle partage d\u00e9sormais ce titre avec saint Yves, saint patron de la Bretagne depuis la fin du Moyen Age.
